CareCredit

Preferred financing payment partner of 2nd Street Animal Hospital

CareCredit is a credit card used for medical financing. For emergency situations or surgeries, CareCredit gives pet owners the peace of mind needed to care for pets big and small.

Unlike traditional pet financing or veterinary payment plans, the CareCredit credit card gives you the flexibility to use your card again and again for your pet’s procedures.

Scratchpay

Scratchpay offers simple payment plans for medical financing, some with zero interest. Since Scratchpay is not a credit card, it does not affect your credit score.

Apply for a payment plan from your phone or desktop, check your rate and pick your payment plan, and get the care your pet needs.

  • No hidden fees.
  • No prepayment penalty.
  • No deferred interest.
  • No surprises.

What to Look for in a Policy

  •  Deductible structure — annual vs. per-incident deductibles change your out-of-pocket cost dramatically over a pet’s lifetime.
  •  Coverage limits — look for annual or lifetime maximums, and whether any individual conditions are capped separately.
  •  Wellness add-ons — routine care riders can cover vaccines, heartworm testing, and dental cleanings at a predictable monthly cost.
  •  Congenital conditions — breed-specific issues like hip dysplasia or brachycephalic syndrome should be covered, not excluded.
  •  Reimbursement percentage — 70%, 80%, or 90%? Higher reimbursement costs more per month but matters most on large claims.
  •  Waiting periods — most plans have 14-day illness waiting periods and longer waits for orthopedic conditions. Enroll before problems start.
