Tory - Practice Manager, MSED
Tory is lucky enough to have spent most of her life around animals. From rescuing English Bulldogs in her 20s, bottle feeding calves as a tween, to getting her first taste of the equestrian life at 3 months when her mother plopped her bareback atop a pasture-retired Mare, causing her Godmother to have a panic attack.
After thirteen years in dental education and healthcare operations, Tory turned her love for animals into a career as Practice Manager for 2nd Street Animal Hospital.
When not working, Tory can be found snuggling her two cats, Nova and Luey, writing the next great American novel, traveling as often as she can, or swooning over Sydney Brown from the Eagles. Go Birds!
Jeffrey - Client Services Supervisor
Jeffrey is the Client Service Supervisor at 2nd Street Animal Hospital. He has been a Philly resident for almost 9 years and shares a home in South Philly with his partner of 13 years. Jeffrey is both a Plant & Cat Dad and receives no respect from either. At least the plants don't talk back!
He loves to travel and music is a big part of his life, specifically his love for Swedish Female Pop singers: it all stared with the ABBA Diva's.
Jeffrey is currently working on getting back into painting. He’s also looking forward to getting back to the gym because 50 is knocking and Hot Dads are in!
Jeffrey’s love language is cooking (“I get that from Mom”) and wants to get more into baking, but...measurements.
He has had many different careers in his life, (paper mill, fertility clinic, etc.) but loves working with animals the most because he can go home every day knowing he helped make a difference. His belief is “Our pets are the only things that love us more than we love ourselves...well mostly...but nothing a little Gaba or Fluoxetine can't fix...maybe...."
Yali - Marketing Coordinator & Client Services Representative
An Afro-Latina who is living proof that if you work hard and exercise patience, anything is possible. Yali spent ten years in local and international journalism, working in pop culture media with a focus on gaming and anime. Her career transitioned into social media where she has the opportunity to work with some of the largest and most notable entertainment and retail companies.
Wanting a switch to spend more time in the city she loves so much, Yali found a home at 2nd Street Animal Hospital as the Marketing Coordinator. She did all this with not one single degree. Just hard work, creativity, and dedication.
Donna - Client Services Representative
Originally from Miami, she grew up surrounded by a diverse array of species, often found catching lizards or raising tadpoles instead of asking for more traditional pets. This lifelong fascination with the natural world led them to pursue a degree in Marine Biology, eventually earning a Master’s in Marine Mammal Conservation.
Since returning to Philadelphia in 2021, she has spent nearly a decade working with a "who’s who" of the animal kingdom—from iguanas and boas to sloths. She has a particular affinity for the "spicier" side of the animal world and are always happy to share photos of themselves wrangling snakes.
With a professional background that balances clinical experience as a Veterinary CSR and public outreach as an Exotic Animal Educator for museums, she truly thrives when connecting with the public and sharing her passion for wildlife.
Francis - Veterinary Technician
Francis has loved animals all her life. Her dream has always been to help animals and six years ago, she turned that dream into a reality with a career as a Veterinary Technician. Francis loves her workplace environment and her coworkers here at 2nd Street. She is looking forward to continuing in the animal medical field for years to come.
When Francis isn’t taking care of animals at the hospital, she is taking care of her own six cats and hamster, with the help of her husband of 23 years and her children Madisyn (10) and Christopher (18).
Addi - Certified Veterinary Technician
Addi is a proud 2025 graduate of Morehead State University in Kentucky, obtaining her certification to practice as a licensed veterinary technician in February of 2024.
Prior to moving to Philly in June 2025, she had the pleasure of participating in a veterinary technician student internship at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in Alabama where she was exposed to numerous specialties in small, large, and exotic animals.
Her ultimate goal is to obtain her VTS in exotic companion animals so that she can continue giving back to the little guys. Outside of work, you may find her vibing in one of the numerous coffee shops of the city with a good book or at home playing Baldur's Gate with her cats (and rabbit of course!)
